Job Details

We seek a motivated individual to undertake a research programme aimed at the elucidation of the molecular mechanism E. coli employ for protein secretion.
You will undertake a series of experiments involving the purification, functional reconstitution and biophysical analysis of the bacterial translocon. New data gathered on the kinetics of its enzymatic activity, dynamic action of the assembly and its architecture, will address the unknown aspects of this important area of biology.
Applicants should hold, or expect to hold shortly, a PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology, structural biology or a related subject


The project is a collaboration with the University of Leeds for the exploitation of single molecule technology towards these goal.
