We are recruiting a full time manager for the newly founded Institute for University of Bristol Jean Golding Institute This is a multidisciplinary research institute supporting and catalysing research across the university that is related to applied data science. The institute has a wide remit covering research into data analytics and methods of data analysis, data infrastructure and applications of applied data science research across all six University of Bristol faculties.

The manager is a pivotal role in driving the success of this Institute, strategically and operationally. You will work to the Director, but will be a member of, and managed in the Research Development Team in RED. You will contribute to setting research strategy, scope and identify new funding opportunities, highlighting priorities and matching to the Institutes strengths. You will take a lead in liaising with other professional services to raise the profile of this new Institute (including web and social media), and contribute to development of comms and marketing materials.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a multidisciplinary world, who can both work in a team and on their own initiative and you should have either a postgraduate degree or equivalent experience and have a good knowledge of research management and funding.  Experience of working in the HE or funding sector would be particularly useful. Strong interpersonal, organisational and IT skills are essential.
