The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Auckland has been established to support, profile and be the hub for innovation and entrepreneurial programmes and activities.  For over a decade, the Centre has created courses and extra-curricular activities promoting innovation and entrepreneurship including those of its highly rated Velocity Entrepreneurship programme. 

The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is entering a period of high growth and has an ambitious strategy to position ourselves as international leaders in the innovation and entrepreneurship space. To achieve these goals, we are looking for outstanding, passionate and entrepreneurial people to join our team.


We need a Business Development Coordinator who is passionate about promoting innovation and entrepreneurship. Reporting to the Business Development Manager you will work with them to implement  initiatives that promote the Centre as a key hub for innovation, commercialisation and entrepreneurial activities within the University of Auckland, and the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. You will be unflappable, able to work with deadlines and have exceptional organisation and planning skills.

You will be experienced in managing communications and events with large groups of stakeholders, including creating a monthly newsletter and email campaigns. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, and be able to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Experience with a CRM system, social media marketing and online tools and platforms is preferable.

Degree qualified, ideally you will have undertaken courses in innovation, entrepreneurship or commercialisation.. With a customer service focus, you will have had experience in event planning and managing external suppliers. Creative thinking, and being able to work collaboratively as part of a large team are also key for success in this role.
