Research Technician

Applications are invited for the position of Research Technician in the Infection and Immunity department. The appointment is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) fixed-term position for a period of 2 years.

The successful applicant will join a multi-disciplinary group to characterise novel antigens and immunoassay technology as part of a research program aimed at developing novel diagnostic tools for Acute Rheumatic Fever.

The position requires BSc (Biomedical) or MSc (Biomedical) qualification with a minimum of three years’ relevant laboratory experience. The applicant should have expertise in molecular biology and biochemistry and experience with immunoassays (for example ELISA, luminex and cytometric bead arrays). Experience in immunohistochemistry would be an advantage. Good interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a team research environment are also required.
