Job Details
Project Title: Pig Research
A Research Fellowship is available for an enthusiastic, capable and adaptable scientist with excellent communication skills, who is keen to establish themselves in Pig Research. You should have a first degree in Animal Science or Life Sciences and a PhD (or be close to completion) in Pig Science or a closely allied discipline and should therefore, in addition to managing and expanding your own research area, be able to input to the other activities of the Institute. You should be able to publish research papers and prepare grant applications, manage existing projects, liaise closely with the industry and input to undergraduate and postgraduate activities, such as the supervision of PhD students.
You should have a strong background in Pig Science, complemented by excellent statistical, analytical and laboratory skills and a proven track record in communicating your research outcomes. You will be based within the School of Biology at the University of Leeds and will be involved with work at the National Pig Development Centre.
