The Research Computing Centre

Established in 2011, the Research Computing Centre (RCC) is a University level Centre reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) that provides coordinated management and support of the University's sustained and substantial investment in e-Research infrastructure. The Research Computing Centre is an innovative and multidisciplinary environment that supports collaboration to facilitate discoveries in science and engineering, humanities, and social sciences, through advanced computation, data analysis and other digital research tools. The Centre enhances the University's eResearch infrastructure, and provides support for interdisciplinary research and education. The Centre interacts with all Faculties and Institutes, the University's Information Technology Services (ITS) and the Queensland Cyber Infrastructure Foundation (QCIF) as well as industry and government.

The role

The successful appointee will undertake routine operations and development tasks for the QRIScloud infrastructure platform including compute, storage and other underpinning monitoring, access management and security systems.

The person

Applicants should possess an undergraduate degree with a significant computing or engineering component; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term (12 months) appointment at HEW Level 5. The remuneration package will be in the range $62,716.31 - $70,241.69 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 9.5% (total package will be in the range $68,674.36 - $76,914.65 p.a.).
