The Graduate School of Education (GSoE) is seeking to appoint an outstanding individual to make a significant contribution to our work in the field of Psychology of Education. The post is a fixed term maternity cover until 7 September 2017 and is available full time or part-time (job share).

The successful individual will be expected to join an established teaching team and contribute to the educational delivery of our MSc Psychology of Education (BPS accredited) and ideally have expertise in Cognitive Psychology and/or Clinical Psychology. Applicants should have the potential to play an active part in contributing to research and publication within the Graduate School of Education’s research framework and in particular to research within at least one of the following areas: cognitive psychology; developmental psychology; overcoming barriers to learning; mental health in schools and pupil wellbeing; counselling in education. They should also be able to take on doctoral supervision, and contribute to the impact of research in these fields.

- A good honours degree

- Higher degree/professional qualifications in Psychology

- Membership, or eligibility for such membership, of the British Psychological Society

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborative working

- Experience of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels

- Experience of project and dissertation supervision

- Contributor to teaching on Psychology programmes

- The potential to seek and secure research funding

 

A PhD in a relevant discipline is desirable.
