Job Details

We are seeking an enthusiastic qualified RGN/RN Adult clinical research nurse with a valid and current NMC registration to join our active clinical research nursing team. This is a great career opportunity for an experienced nurse who will thrive on a new challenge. As a research nurse, you will have regular contact with patients and (with continued support and training) you will be working independently. Your main responsibility will be to recruit motor neurone disease (MND) patients into a wide variety of commercial and academically led clinical research studies and trials.

The post holder will be responsible for assessing and managing the care pathways for patients and carers participating in research studies and trials. This will involve recruitment, education and monitoring of your own caseload of clinical research patients; and the collection and documentation of accurate data. The successful candidate will be a qualified nurse (with valid NMC registration) and possess excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, plus a high degree of IT proficiency, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. Experience of nursing neurological patients and experience in the care of motor neurone disease patients would be advantageous. Applicants should have an understanding of the legislation governing research and ICH-GCP. Previous experience as a research nurse is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided. The role is full time, and some hours will be specified for you to attend clinics held on specific days of the week and coordinate trial visits according to the visit schedule.

This post is fixed-term for 2 years in the first instance (subject to continued funding), and is available immediately.
