An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer (Tribology) to join one of the most successful Mechanical Engineering departments in the UK. We welcome candidates who have a first degree and PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, and expertise in tribology, friction, wear lubrication and associated experimental and modelling practices. Ideally, you should possess teaching experience and a teaching qualification, as the post holder will be expected to carry out a full load of teaching duties including designing, delivering assessing and reviewing teaching programmes and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate student projects.

The post holder will also have the ability to conduct a programme of research including attracting external funding from a range of sources, publishing work in high quality peer-reviewed journals and attending conferences and seminars. This is an ideal opportunity for a scholar with excellent teaching ability and a track record of high quality research papers to join one of the largest Tribology research groups in the United Kingdom.

The group provides a high quality research environment and works at both fundamental scales, and on applied research projects across several industry sectors, is part of the Leonardo Centre for Tribology (http://www.leonardocentre.co.uk/about-us/about-the-centre) and delivers the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Integrated Tribology (http://www.it-cdt.co.uk/).
