PerkinElmer is seeking a highly motivated in vivo biologist to join our molecular imaging R&D team at the Center for Personalized Health & Innovation in Hopkinton, MA. The successful candidate will be a key contributor as the overseer of our vivarium as well as a researcher in a team committed to preclinical animal models of pharmacology, disease, and toxicology. PerkinElmer integrates biology, chemistry, and pharmacology to drive the development of fluorescence agents for selective in vivo interrogation of the biological targets, biomarkers and pathways that underlie disease progression and therapeutic response.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as Chair of the IACUC committee overseeing function and maintenance of the animal vivarium, working with USDA and other organizations performing audits of the facility.
  • Fill a complex, key in vivo research role involving collaboration with Field Scientists, Product Managers, Sales, and Marketing to generate research datasets.
  • Work with team in Applied Biology to perform in vivo studies to best show how our preclinical imaging systems can answer critical questions of importance in the field today.A hands-on research role from formulation of experimental design to planning and scientific execution of research projects.Critical to align objectives with resources and delivery timelines.
  • Author or co-author detailed project reports, application notes, technical notes, and peer-reviewed publications and exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills in communication of results to customers.
  • Proactive coordination of animal models for demos between Product Management/FAS and Applied Biology.Provide extensive Optical Imaging and microCT expertise in customer demonstrations and technical support for customers with relevant questions.
  • Accountable for meeting scheduled completion dates and for providing timely feedback when dates cannot be met.
