The University of Auckland is New Zealand’s leading University.  We employ over 5400 academic and professional staff to support over 41,000 students making us one of NZ’s largest employers. Campus Life provides a range of services, including Accommodation, Health and Counselling, Sport and Recreation, Early Childhood Centres, retail services, events and more, to students and staff at the University of Auckland.  Commercial Services is an innovative and progressive business unit within Campus Life that provides a range of services and businesses which enhance student life and the reputation of the University.

We’re looking for an Associate Director to provide inspirational leadership and delivery of strategy across the mix of functions and businesses within Commercial Services, including; events and conferences, public programmes, retail sites and services, Goldie Estate wines, campus store and summer accommodation. This is an exciting time to be joining the University as the next phase of these consolidated units will be to deliver growth and build initiatives in areas which visibly impact the experience of staff and students across the University.

This role requires a leader with a strong commitment to customer service and a proactive approach to staff development. A high degree of operational management experience combined with solid commercial acumen and an ability to balance the nuances and requirements of your stakeholders is imperative. You will be a strategic decision maker with a talent for navigating the path and leading others through change.
