About the project/work tasks:
CtrlAQUA is a Centre for Research-based Innovation (SFI) that will lay the foundation for the development of closed-containment concepts of the future (http://ctrlaqua.no/). With greater control of the production process, it will be possible to reduce problems associated with mortality and sea lice, and to reduce the production time for farmed salmon.
The overall focus of the centre will be innovations on one of the most sensitive phases in the salmon production cycle, the early seawater phase, the so-called post-smolt stage. The main innovation will be reliable and efficient production of post-smolts in closed systems on land or at sea.
The centre will contribute to better production control, fish welfare and sustainability in closed-containment farms. The centre is organized in four departments:
-
Technology and environment
-
Preventative fish health
-
Fish production and welfare
-
Education and recruitment
The candidate will primarily conduct his or her research within the department Fish production and welfare, associated with one or more of the projects within the department. Other topics may also become relevant during the period
