We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Research Associate to be responsible for conducting research for the BBSRC funded project “the neurological determination of effective stunning systems for fish”.

The post holder will be working with experts in neurophysiology and fish welfare at the University of Bristol as well as with external consultants including an industrial partner (Ace Aquatec Ltd.).

The successful applicant will have a PhD in fish research, neuroscience or a related discipline.

A knowledge of fish husbandry and welfare is essential as well as an ability to communicate and work effectively with the different stake holders involved in the project. An enjoyment of working with fish is also essential to the project.
