Institute for Social Science Research

The Institute for Social Science Research (ISSR) is a national leader in advanced interdisciplinary problem oriented social science research and evidence based policy research. Our researchers address some of the most important issues and challenges facing Australia today. We conduct research on priority issues and offer commercial services and training for public and private sector organisations. ISSR has extensive research infrastructure for data collection and analysis, organized within an integrated research environment. This includes a commercial survey research facility with a 39-station CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interview) laboratory, and hardware, software and other infrastructure to undertake large scale telephone, web, email and mail surveys. This facility now operates as ISSR Surveys, a full-service commercial survey research provider, within the Institute.

The role

ISSR is seeking a Research Manager (CATI) to coordinate and manage all activities and research projects undertaken in the ISSR CATI laboratory. The successful candidate will oversee the management and coordination of survey data collection in consultation with the Research Services Manager. The role also assists with business development and management of the CATI team including ongoing development and implementation of processes for CATI research projects.

The role will be based at The University of Queensland's new Long Pocket precinct (off Meiers Road, Indooroopilly)

The person

Applicants should possess qualifications in the social sciences, psychology or business with at least 4 years subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience / and qualifications. The ideal applicant will have demonstrated knowledge in the social research and research methods (particularly survey methodology) and demonstrated research project management skills. High level of computer proficiency, including competency of Excel and computer assisted data collection based programs such as Voxco, Dimensions, Confirmit and an understanding of data management and data management tools are essential. The ideal applicant should have demonstrated experience and ability in planning and coordinating survey interview processes and procedures.

Remuneration

This is a full-time fixed term appointment at HEW Level 7. The remuneration package will be in the range $79,498.69 – $86,950.63 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 9.5% (total package will be in the range $87,051.06 – $95,210.94 p.a.).
