Applications are invited for a Lecturer level position in Chinese Language Teaching & Learning in the School of Cultures, Languages and Linguistics. This appointment is a three-year fixed term position, starting from 1 February 2017.

You will be expected to teach and coordinate undergraduate courses in Chinese as a Foreign Language from elementary to advanced levels and post-graduate courses in Chinese Teaching and Learning, supervise postgraduate students, mentor part-time tutors, and demonstrate strategic vision for the future of Chinese Language Teaching & Learning at the University of Auckland. You will also be expected to contribute actively to the research culture of the School of Cultures, Languages and Linguistics.

You will have a PhD in either Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language or Chinese Linguistics, though qualified candidates with general post-graduate training in Foreign Language Teaching and Learning or in Linguistics will also be considered. Experience teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language to tertiary students, preferably both at elementary and more advanced levels, is required, as is research expertise that shows a strong focus on either Chinese Teaching and Learning or Chinese Linguistics.
