Manager, Project Management Office (IT)

The Manager Project Management Office (IT) will be based in Pakistan and will head the IT Project Management Office. The incumbent will report to the Chief Information Officer of the University; he/she will be responsible for the overall direction of the Program Management Office (PMO) and provide services to the organization's portfolio of IT projects such as guidelines, planning, scheduling, estimating, costing and risk assessment alongwith  ensuring consistency of project management processes across projects.

Responsibilities

• Establish project management policies, guidelines, and ensure documentation of standards for IT Projects.
• Enforce project standards – ensure each IT project follows a well-defined and appropriate project management process.
• Perform regular and periodic Quality Assurance of all active IT projects.
• Establish a structured and formal repository of all documentation generated during the project implementation life cycle including lessons learnt.
• Provide mentoring and training and act as a resource person for project teams working on various projects.
• Provide expert advice to project teams in planning, scheduling, estimating, costing, risk assessment, change management, etc.
• Manage conflicting resource requirements and assist CIO and senior management to prioritize projects and/or ensure consistency with corporate strategies.

Requirements

• Graduate in Computer Engineering/Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent. MBA is highly desirable.
• Certifications in Project Management and IT governance would be a definite asset.
• 7 - 10 years of progressive experience in project management and leading large scale projects in information technology preferably in a healthcare, research or public health setting.
• Experience with project and personnel supervision and budget management is highly desirable.
