Job Details
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for overall financial management related to research grants including their budget preparation, financial review and reconciliation, financial monitoring and audit to ensure compliance to the University’s policies and requirements of the granting agencies. Specific responsibilities include to:
- prepare budgets for new research grants and finalize it in consultation with the supervisor and the concerned principal investigators
- prepare and review financial reports by ensuring compliance with the financial management guidelines of the granting agencies and coordinate with other relevant stakeholders for the reporting requirements
- develop financial projections for all the research grants by ensuring optimal utilization of funds and cost-effectiveness
- reconcile grant variance reports on periodic or need basis
- supervise the timely requisitions processing for purchase and personnel requirements while remaining within the available budget
- prepare monthly financial reports for actual funds utilization of all research grants and share the same with principal investigators in period basis
- visit field sites in different areas of Sindh and Punjab for monitoring and audit purposes
- ensure that the time allocation sheets of principal investigators are properly updated
- supervise the work assignments of team members and report to the supervisor
- carry out any other responsibility as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
You should have:
- a Master’s degree preferably MBA whereas having relevant professional qualifications would be an added advantage
- at least two years of relevant work experience in any organization of good repute
- good skills in grants management and review, particularly related to financial administration
- excellent knowledge of general financial practices and procedures followed
- good interpersonal skills
- good command over use of computer applications, particularly of MS Excel
- ability to manage work efficiently inpidually as well in teams
- willingness to frequently travel to field sites within and outside Karachi.
