This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to work on an innovative project to advance an image processing methodology for medical application.

The post is funded by a Medical Research Council Confidence in Concept award to an ongoing collaboration between the Department of Infection, Immunity and Cardiovascular Disease (Academic Nephrology Unit) and Directorate of Medical Imaging Medical Physics at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.

The successful applicant will join an innovative research team to further develop the Sheffield TKV Tool, a kidney imaging analysis tool for use as a clinical biomarker in patients with the most common inherited kidney disease, Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). You will possess or be near completion of a PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or related disciplines and have a strong interest to work at the medical-engineering interface. The successful applicant should also have a good understanding of health related themes and the application of image processing in medical imaging and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Good programming skills in either Matlab or Java are essential.

This post is full-time and available for a fixed term for a period of 12 months in the first instance.
