The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology in the Stanford University School of Medicine, is seeking board certified/eligible applicants at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level in the Clinician Educator line for the role of ambulatory clinical director.

The ambulatory clinical director will oversee patient care activities in the ambulatory environment collaboratively with a nursing manager and an administrative manager.  Specific responsibilities include development and maintenance of physician practice guidelines, oversight of advanced practice providers and clinical trainees in the ambulatory environment, improving ambulatory patient safety, care quality, and service, managing provider staffing, and collaborating with clinical research staff to ensure seamless conduct of research in the ambulatory setting.  In addition to her/his clinical leadership activities, the ambulatory clinical director will provide direct patient care, educate clinical trainees, and participate in all Division clinical and educational activities.

  • The major criterion for appointment in the Clinician Educator line is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care and clinical teaching appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

This recruitment supports an ongoing initiative in the Department of Pediatrics to expand the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and its research and clinical programs.   Successful applicants will have demonstrated outstanding (or the promise of outstanding) clinical leadership relevant to pediatric hematology/oncology. Successful candidates must have an M.D. or D.O. degree and be board certified or eligible for certification in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
