Job Details
The Learning Assessment Centre (LAC) Proctors will work under the supervision of the LAC Facilitator. The Learning Assessment Centre is a facility to assist in administering a variety of assessment instruments. Proctors will be required to follow specific policies and procedures of test administration and provide exceptional customer service. The successful candidate must also be able to deal with confidential information and maintain accurate records. The scheduled shifts will be determined based on the facility bookings between 8:30 am - 9:00 pm Monday to Friday. No previous experience is required. Shifts may vary from 4-20 hours a week depending on exam schedule.
Duties
- Distributes examination materials to candidates
- Monitors test rooms and helps to enforce time limits and compliance with other examination procedures, including checking candidates' identification and arranging the seating of candidates
- Answers questions concerning examination procedures, discrepancies in tests and other routine matters
- Collects, checks and counts examination materials
- Reports rule violations and/or unusual occurrences during examinations to supervisor
- Checks candidates' identification
- Notifies appropriate personnel when test equipment malfunctions occur
- May serve as a receptionist at performance tests and interviews
- May read routine instructions to students
- Handles highly confidential material
- Performs related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to follow written and/or verbal instruction, along with the ability to give clear and concise instructions to students
- Some working knowledge of computers and/or different software is an asset
