Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Assistant Manager. 

Responsibilities

Overall the appointee will support in planning, budgeting, forecasting and monitoring of the University-Wide functions and initiatives while conducting value added analyses and highlighting issues with recommendations for effective decision making. The incumbent will be responsible to:

  • Review, analyze and consolidate the monthly and cumulative financial performance of all units and programmes of the university as compared to budget and past trends highlighting issues with recommendations to the senior management and Board. 
  • Provide support in reviewing, and consolidating University-Wide financial planning, budgeting and long term projections for the existing as well as planned initiatives.
  • Derive the financial results for the allocation of University Wide Central Support Cost including process improvement. Refine on an ongoing basis the planning process, identifying the weaknesses and strategies to mitigate those.
  • Planning, budgeting and monitoring actual as compared to budget of University-wide Initiatives, and Support Services including Senior Management cost centers.
  • Refine processes for efficient monitoring of budgetary and actual financial/ statistical data.
  • Review and provide insights on project updates related to construction activities.
  • Any other special projects as assigned.


Requirements

  • ACCA/ MBA (Finance).
  • At least five years’ post qualification experience in finance.
  • Must be accurate, detailed-oriented and yet be able to view financial information from a broad global perspective.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate extensive and mutually beneficial relationships to benefit the entire organization.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills.
  • Experience working with cross-department teams with the ability to work effectively to develop consensus and cooperative solutions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proven ability to be resourceful in finding solutions to problems and capacity to handle multiple assignments with minimal supervision while adhering to critical deadlines.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and to resolve issues independently.
