The School has a large student body - 1200 medical students, more than 1300 students in postgraduate courses and nearly 1000 students undertaking higher research degrees – and major undergraduate teaching programs in medical and health sciences.

The Concord Clinical School is a teaching facility of the Sydney Medical School located at Concord Repatriation General Hospital and co-ordinates the clinical education of approximately 230 medical students.

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer to take on the role of the Co-ordinator of Medical Education programs. You will take responsibility for overseeing the delivery of medical student teaching and assessment and related student support within the Sydney Medical School- Concord (Concord Clinical School) as well as ensuring the ongoing smooth running of the MD Program. This will entail participation in the academic teaching program including various modes of teaching and assessment; and organising and providing academic support for medical students. You will work closely with the Concord Clinical School staff to ensure uniformity of student opportunity and experience across the MD Program.

To succeed in securing this positon you will have:

  • familiarity with the functions and purpose of a clinical school
  • a medical degree and registration or eligibility to register as a medical practitioner in Australia
  • recognition as a specialist in any area of medicine (desirable)
  • a higher research degree or equivalent professional qualification (desirable)
  • ability to network and interact positively with medical professionals
  • excellent communication skills and ability to work closely and productively with teams
  • demonstrated leadership ability
  • demonstrated capacity to develop and/or contribute to research including medical education, as well as a record of publications and/or presentations
  • experience teaching at university level or to adults and experience with course coordination and delivery.
