To support continuing growth within the University, a number of exciting new permanent opportunities have arisen. We are looking to appoint a group of talented individuals to join our Finance Services faculty teams, which support the University’s faculties, schools, departments and business units. Faculty finance teams make up 89 of the 176 finance staff who are also responsible for the financial administration of externally funded research grant accounts both pre- and post-award.

Finance Account Manager

Finance Services has a vacancy for a full-time Finance Account Manager.  Research grants are the life blood of university research and the successful candidate will work with academic colleagues to help win these grants.  Based within Finance Services and reporting to the Deputy Faculty Financial Controller, you will provide advice on the financial aspects of grant applications to external funding bodies, as well as providing financial account management and support to one or more of our academic schools.

You will have extensive financial experience, preferably gained in a large and complex organisation. Knowledge of research funding terms or an aptitude to learn quickly is desirable.  An excellent communicator, with strong interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills, you must be able to use your initiative, identify solutions, influence and persuade. You should also be adept at managing your workload to meet strict deadlines. The role is particularly suited to someone who enjoys working with and supporting colleagues from non-financial backgrounds.
