The University of Auckland employs over 5,400 academic and professional staff to support over 41,000 students making us one of NZ’s largest employers. 

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Coordinator to join our Finance division, under our Performance & Risk team (P&R) for a 12 month fixed term contract.  P&R supports the management and development of a performance and risk improvement framework for the University.  This includes leadership and coordination of risk management and resilience across the University, KPI’s for Service Divisions, Internal audit, and the University Insurance programme.

Reporting to the Manager, Performance & Risk and working closely alongside the Risk Advisor, you will provide support in the business continuity and risk register programmes.  From time to time you may also be required to provide support to other portfolios of Performance & Risk   (including Insurance, Enterprise Risk Framework, and Crisis Management Team).

To be successful in this role you will have strong problem solving and decision making skills along with a confident, diplomatic approach and intuitive sense of judgment. You will be adept at engaging with key internal and external stakeholders and meeting their requirements in a large complex environment. 

Attention to detail and strong organisational skills will also be essential for this role and you will thrive in environments where consistent delivery is highly regarded.  Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, excellent time management and an ability to work autonomously will complete the checklist. 

Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in a coordination support role for large multi-faceted organisations.  There will be a requirement to use Excel, Word and Visio extensively in the role therefore candidates will need to be able to demonstrate their expertise in the use of these packages.
