The HR Functional Analyst provides outstanding first tier support for HR Systems and Reporting, triaging tickets and issues, maintaining system configuration, evaluating security requests and running ad-hoc reports. The HR Functional Analyst assists users throughout the Campus, providing the necessary support and assistance, ensuring increased user productivity.

Duties

  • Monitors the Service Now Ticketing System and provide timely and accurate responses to requests and issues
  • Provides first line PeopleSoft HCM support to HRS staff, troubleshooting problems, finding resolutions, recommending changes or escalating calls to the external service provider or HR leadership as necessary
  • Triages inquires/tickets and categorizes the inquiries into pre-defined types and setting priority
  • Engages, when necessary, in a screen sharing session or personally visits users to assist and better understand the issue
  • Provides direction, guidance and advice to users by pointing them to online processes or procedures
  • Works with Business Analysts, Senior Web Developers and Managers to obtain direction for resolution or re-assignment
  • Evaluates security requests to confirm the access is in compliance and any required training has been completed
  • Participates in annual security audits
  • Reviews HCM security access permissions to ensure correct roles are assigned to the correct users and that improper access is not permitted
  • Evaluates each request for configuration change via Service Now Ticketing system
  • Ensures the appropriate authorization is obtained for the Change
  • Prepares documentation for all table configuration and system enhancements and changes
  • Implements change by configuring or creating a Change Order Request (COR) to authorize Vendors to develop and implement
  • Tests configuration changes in UAT environment, works with business units to confirm change is working as requested and implements in production; communicates change to HRS Managers
  • Gathers report requirements for information as requested from various central business units, faculties and departments necessary to support the management activities of these areas; utilizes a variety of tools including PeopleSoft Query, Benthic Golden to execute and/or modify/design simple queries and reports to produce data from the PeopleSoft HCM system and other Human Resource systems as required or requested by HR staff or other University clients
  • Analyzes data to ensure accuracy and completeness

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma related to business application analysis, design and development, computer science, computers systems technology, or Human Resource Management; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
  • Minimum 1 year as a Functional or Business Analyst or Senior HR Functional role
  • Minimum 1 year supporting or using PeopleSoft HCM in a HR/Payroll environment
  • Demonstrated aptitude in working with computing technology and general programming is required
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Office Suite and PeopleSoft HCM is required
  • Experience in running Reports and Querying of large data sets in PeopleSoft HCM is required
  • Basic Database skills like SQL coding and use of SQL Management tools, Golden/SQL is required
  • Good knowledge and experience with data management using Microsoft Excel is preferred
  • Requires a logical and analytical mind, with ability to solve problems quickly
  • Ability to work in a group and independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Desire to learn participate, and keep current with technologies
