Job Details
In high temperature Fuel Cell Technology operating lifetime of the fuel cells is of high importance in order to be able to compete with conventional power generation equipment. Two elements that limit lifetime are the corrosion of the metallic interconnect plates and the degradation of the air electrodes (cathodes).
The PhD project will be looking into novel methods of applying protective layers to interconnects. This will be done within the EU project SCORED 2:0. With view to commercial applications of the findings, cost modelling will also be an essential element of this work.
