BristolBridge - Mathematical modelling of the impact of novel AMR diagnostics for Neisseria gonorrhoeae
Applications are invited for a 3 month post to develop mathematical models of gonorrhoea transmission, focussed on the impact of novel diagnostics e.g. point of care tests to detect antimicrobial resistance/susceptibility of infections, to guide treatment decisions. This follows preliminary work commissioned by the O’Neill review on the costs of antibiotic resistance (http://amr-review.org/).
We are looking for a self-motivated person with strong technical skills in mathematical modelling (e.g. Matlab or C++), an interest in applied public health science and excellent communication skills. Previous experience in multidisciplinary infectious disease modelling projects desirable.

The successful applicant will have a PhD (or about to complete) in Engineering Maths, Epidemiology, Complexity Science or a related quantitative discipline.
