Our Discipline of Finance is highly regarded (ranked, over the last two years, in the top 20 in the world by QS World Rankings) and is highly collegial. As the successful applicant, you will join a dynamic group teaching in a large course work program for both undergraduates and postgraduates. Current research and teaching covers banking, behavioural finance, corporate finance, derivatives, international finance, investments, quantitative finance, real estate finance, risk management and security market microstructure.

We are currently seeking applicants for the position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Corporate Finance. Applicants working in any major area(s) falling within theoretical and/or empirical corporate finance are encouraged to apply.

In this position you will:

  • teach finance units at undergraduate and postgraduate levels to culturally-diverse student cohorts, and provide curriculum development in corporate finance
  • make a contribution to the research strengths of the discipline, including the pursuit of research grants and regular publication in journals of high standing
  • supervise research higher degree students
  • be involved in interdisciplinary collaborations within the University and with external stakeholders
  • contribute to academic administration.

    Preliminary interviews will be conducted at the FMA conference in 2016 and the AFA conference in 2017 (for those candidates who are attending these events). Final interviews of shortlisted candidates will be held in January and potentially February 2017 at the University of Sydney Business School, Sydney, Australia. Interview dates will be chosen (as far as possible) to accommodate each short-listed candidate.

    Remuneration package Level B: $117,321 - $139,317 p.a. (which includes a base salary $99,138 - $117,725 p.a., leave loading and up to 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation).

     Remuneration package Level C: $140,029 - $165,562 p.a. (which includes a base salary $121,440 - $143,714 p.a., leave loading and up to 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation.

    The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A salary supplement may be negotiated with the successful applicant.
