We are seeking an Assembly Production Manager based in Santa Clara, CA.

Position Overview
This position is responsible for leading the production team to meet established objectives for the assembly, test and repair of our products for the Medical Imaging business unit at PerkinElmer in Santa Clara California.  The responsibilities include sustaining existing manufacturing processes and improving overall yield and cycle time by driving improvements, best practices, and supporting the process engineering team.  Support PQP, Lean, Productivity and OEE improvement initiatives. Continuously assess project and resource requirements and develop organizational strength, competency and talent. This position reports to the Director of Operations..  .

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
 
 
  • Responsible for leading and executing production activities to meet established production and delivery schedules for both new builds and returns.
  • Track, and report production metrics – drive process/procedural efficiencies and continuous improvement in order to meet the business goals in particular with On Time Delivery, RMA turnaround time, in warranty RMA rate, Productivity, Scrap and Cycle Time
  • Enhance and utilize software models to optimize factory capacity, reduce cycle time, and inventory
  • Provide timely and effective communication of important production issues to the leadership team – communicate company/group objectives and direction to teams.
  • Ensure operational compliance with established FDA, ISO and other requirements
  • Actively participate in focus teams aimed at improving yield and output
  • Manage quarterly and annual labor budget
  • Support and utilize the LEAD (Leadership Employee Advancement and Development) retain and develop employee talent
  • Develop training plans and instruct staff, technicians and peers
  • Develop and implement departmental polices and work practices.
  • Drive 6-Sigma, Lean and General Manufacturing Best Practices – develop/implement/document procedures to sustain processes including CAPA and other quality systems
