Veterinary-qualified Senior Research Associate position in a multidisciplinary research project on Antimicrobial Drug Resistance based in the School of Veterinary Sciences but involving a consortium of 9 investigators across 3 schools at the University of Bristol. 

The post-holder will be expected to travel to dairy farms, liaise with farmers and veterinary surgeons, complete on-farm sample and data collection, including sampling from cattle and the near-farm environment, farmer surveys and medicines use audits. They will undertake data analysis, report-writing and will take part in impact events, including dissemination of outcomes to farmers, veterinarians and other stakeholders. 

Applicants should have a veterinary degree and membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and a postgraduate degree or equivalent research experience in farm animal medicine, biostatistics or epidemiology. A track record of research resulting in peer-reviewed journal publications is desirable. Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams and being able to manage multiple projects is essential. Experience and interest in public engagement activities is desirable.


This post is funded for 36 months beginning October 2016. Part-time working and job sharing will be considered.
