Job Details

Please Note: This is a “rolling advert” with a nominal close date only. Applications are welcome at any time and the timing of the selection process will be dependent on the applications received.

Applications are invited for post-doctoral research positions in the Centre for Quantum Photonics (CQP) at the University of Bristol. The Centre spans the School of Physics and Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in the Faculties of Science and Engineering, and the Centre for Nanoscience and Quantum Information. Since its inception in 2006, CQP has built a reputation as pioneers in the development of future photonic quantum technologies and the science that underpins them.

Applicants should have, or be about to obtain, a PhD in Physics or Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or other relevant discipline preferably involving quantum information or photonics. The positions available are speculative, arising to support successful funding applications. Successful applicants will work closely with Prof. Jeremy O’Brien, Dr Mark Thompson and Dr Jonathan Matthews, as well as engaging with all other members of CQP, who have experience ranging from photonic device fabrication through to quantum information science theory. You will be working as part of a team of highly motivated PhD students and researchers; experience in mentoring students is therefore also desirable.

CQP is committed to helping researchers become independent academics and have extensive experience in aiding PRDAs with fellowship applications.

Informal enquiries may be addressed to cqp-enquiries@bristol.ac.uk.
