Transfusion Service Physician
The Department of Laboratory Medicine, University of Washington School of Medicine, is seeking a full-time, 12-month faculty position as an Assistant Professor without tenure in transfusion medicine on the Clinician-Educator or Physician-Scientist pathway. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. The applicant should possess strong clinical skills in the development and management of Transfusion Services including patient blood management and the support of transfusion research. The primary service responsibility will be to participate in the transfusion services laboratory group of the University of Washington and Harborview Medical Centers. The hospitals specialize in trauma, burns, complex surgery, organ transplant, cardiothoracic surgery, stem cell transplant, oncology, high-risk OB, and neonatal intensive care.
Applicants must have an MD, D.O. or foreign equivalent and be board certified or board eligible in Transfusion Medicine. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship of an H-1B visa, graduates of non-US medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
