Campus Life

The University of Auckland is New Zealand’s pre-eminent University, with a turnover of $1.1bn, including research revenue of over $200m generated across eight diverse faculties and two research institutes. With over 6,000 staff and 42,000 students, the University of Auckland is one of New Zealand’s most significant and complex entities.

Campus Life’s purpose is to create a vibrant, engaging and supportive campus experience for students.  Its services encompass both well-being and engagement - including Accommodation, Health and Counselling Services, Early Childhood Centres, Sport and Recreation, Events, Conferences, Student Clubs and Associations – all of which are aimed at removing personal barriers to academic success and helping students to maximise their university experience.

As the Communications and Marketing Manager for Campus Life you will work closely with the wider team to provide comprehensive and proactive marketing advice and support and implement marketing plans through promotions, event management, internal and external communications activities as well as leading the web and social media presence for the various business units of Campus Life.  You will also take a lead role in aligning marketing and communications activities with the University’s marketing strategy and plans. As a result of your efforts, students will be well informed of the myriad of events and opportunities on campus, and business units will be well positioned to achieve their objectives.

To be successful you will be an astute and innovative marketer who can demonstrate the success of what you have initiated.  You will ideally have tertiary industry related experience and can demonstrate your expertise in marketing and campaign management using a range of channels including print, web, digital and social media.  Added to this will be your proactive manner and your hands-on team oriented approach.

This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy a challenge and are keen to develop and progress their career working in a vibrant and stimulating environment where you will be rewarded by working in one of Auckland’s largest and most diverse employers.

The University is committed to meeting its obligations under the Treaty of Waitangi and achieving equity outcomes for staff and students.
