Salary:  £31,656 to £35,609

We seek an outstanding Lecturer in Actuarial Science to join Mathematical Sciences.

This post is fixed term in nature to provide teaching cover for the Head of Mathematical Sciences.

Mathematical Sciences forms part of the Faculty of Social, Human and Mathematical Sciences, which brings together a unique range of disciplines and is committed to tackling the world’s biggest challenges through interdisciplinary research. You will also be a member of the Southampton Statistical Sciences Research Institute (S3RI), which coordinates statistical research across the University.

You will be currently active in pursuing excellent research with interests that relate to statistical modelling and computation, ideally with experience in mortality estimation and projection.

Ideally you should hold a PhD (or an equivalent qualification) in actuarial science or statistics, and you should be able to deliver high quality teaching in a range of topics in actuarial science and statistics, at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
