Job Details
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Associate Lecturer – An Honours’ degree (or equivalent 4-year degree) in Actuarial Science plus significant progress (i.e. at least the A100, A200 and A300 subjects plus one F100 subject) towards the South African professional actuarial Fellowship qualification (FASSA). To apply for this position you must be planning to register for a higher degree in the School of Statistics & Actuarial Science post the completion of your professional qualification.
Lecturer - FASSA (or a mutually recognised professional actuarial Fellowship qualification (FFA/FIA/FIAA) and the preparedness to obtain FASSA), plus an Honours’ degree (or equivalent 4-year degree), with some work experience as an actuary in the business world.
Duties:
Teaching, course development and research, supervision of students for Honours’
projects, Masters’ research reports and dissertations, willingness to undertake research for publication. In addition, the candidate would be expected to participate in the activities of the Actuarial Society of South Africa.
