The University is seeking to appoint a highly competent Accountant to join its Professional Services team in the Finance, Planning and Analytics Department. This dynamic team is responsible for a providing financial advice and guidance to Heads of Department, and other key staff within Professional Services, to support strategic and operational decision making. We also carry out a range of professional accountancy tasks including planning, forecasting, management accounting and monitoring of budgets.

The post will give you the opportunity to be involved in a wide mix of many exciting and developing areas of the University and to influence the way we do things. The Finance Department employs approximately 180 staff, mostly based on its Highfield Campus. You will primarily be responsible for providing financial advice and guidance to our Information & Technology Department, along with other support services, so will be based 2 days a week in our city centre office and the rest of the time at Highfield.

You will have excellent analytical, organisational skills and IT skills, be able to work independently and to deadlines and be able to communicate effectively with people at all levels. You will be a professionally qualified accountant with membership of a relevant professional body – CCAB or CIMA. We would expect you to quickly gain a comprehensive understanding of relevant University systems and procedures as well as an awareness of activities in the broader workplace.
