Job Purpose

To co-ordinate and manage day to day activities in supporting the Inclusive Finance Research Project, the Senior Project Leader and colleagues within the project team. The post holder will be a key member of the Inclusive Finance Project Team and will support the Team in an administrative capacity, e.g. complex diary management, event organisation, web-page development and the use of social media, organising publicity material, supporting meetings and handling confidential information. The post holder will work under guidance of the Senior Project Leader to provide a high quality administrative service. The post holder will be expected to work with minimal supervision, and communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders across the University and externally.

Person Specification

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Educated to at least GCSE level (or equivalent), including at least a Grade C in English and Mathematics.
  • Proficient in the use of software packages (e.g. MS Office) and demonstrable ability to quickly learn in-house applications.
  • Accurate, fast and efficient work processing skills, demonstrated by RSAII work processing (or equivalent qualification or experience).
  • Extensive events management experience.
  • Demonstrable ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in the use of Social Media (to implement the Project Team's Social Media marketing).
  • Demonstrable and highly developed organisational skills, with the ability to work thoroughly and reliably, sometimes under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with demonstrable experience of organising and supporting meetings/events.
  • Demonstrable ability to deliver effective, high quality client focused and customer-orientated professional services.
  • Demonstrable ability to make own judgement in decision making within constraints of the role.
  • Demonstrable experience of working within a large and complex organisation and previous experience of working within the higher education sector is desirable.
  • Demonstrable proactive approach to completing tasks.
  • Demonstrable ability to work as an effective team member.
  • Positive, flexible, enthusiastic and pleasant manner.
  • The pos tholder may occasionally be required to work early mornings, evenings and weekends, for which time off in lieu will be granted.
