Job Details

The Department of Surgery provides comprehensive and sub-specialty care in the areas of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Dental-Oral, Maxillo-facial Surgery, General Surgery, Breast Surgery, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Urology and Vascular Surgery. With regards to Paediatric and Congenital Cardiothoracic Surgery, there is strong collaboration with the Department of Paediatrics & Child Health, and the Children’s Hospital Service Line.
Responsibilities
You will have an independent consultant status and will also be responsible to undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research and specified administrative activities.
Requirements
You must have completed a structured postgraduate training program and possess FCPS, Intercollegiate FRCS (UK) , American Board or equivalent qualification in Paediatric and Congenital Cardiothoracic Surgery. For Assistant Professor rank, you should have at least two years’ experience as Senior Instructor or equivalent you should preferably have at least five years of association as consultant Paediatric Cardiothoracic Surgeon at a high volume cardiothoracic centre in a university based teaching set-up. For Senior Instructor, at least two years’ experience as fellow/equivalent in a reputable institution is required.
In addition, you should have demonstrated scholarship through research, a number of publications in indexed and peer-reviewed journals and contribution to education.
