Professional Liaison Officer

The Professional Liaison Network (PLN) is a new entity within the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, aiming to develop links with external organisations for the benefit of students. We are looking for someone who wants to play a key role in building this new area of activity and who is keen to help students and to engage with external organisations on behalf of the University. The PLN will be developing schemes which facilitate student engagement with large and small companies, charities, and other organisations; the work of the Professional Liaison Officer will include sourcing internships, developing and delivering mentoring schemes and setting up seminars, lectures and events. Supervising staff working with the PLN on these activities is likely to be an important part of the role. The successful candidate will be flexible, enthusiastic, full of ideas, an excellent communicator, and will be keen to get involved in all aspects of the set up of this new activity. Engaging with local Bristol companies, and with institutions of the city of Bristol more widely, will also be a key part of the role.

The role will provide the opportunity to get involved in an unusually wide range of University work, from liaising with companies, writing for the web and for marketing material, to developing, planning and delivering schemes and programmes of engagement that will benefit our students.
