The University of Queensland Press (UQP) was established in 1948 and is one of Australia's oldest and most respected publishing houses. We publish print and ebooks across a range of subjects, from literary fiction, general non-fiction and poetry, to children's and young adult books and academic books in fields such as cultural studies, history and peace and conflict studies.

The role

UQP is seeking an experienced book editor for a 6-month part-time (3 days per week) contract. The successful applicant will edit and project manage UQP trade and custom publishing titles, seeking excellence in their content, design and production.

The person

Applicants should possess a degree in English, History or related Arts discipline and have a minimum of three years' experience working as an editor within a trade book-publishing environment. Highly developed project management skills, book production knowledge, and structural and copy-editing expertise are essential for this role.   

Remuneration

This is a part time fixed term appointment at HEW Level 6. The remuneration package will be in the range $43,227.42 – 46,581.26 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 9.5% (total package will be in the range $47,334.02 - $51,006.48 p.a.).
