Research Team Manager - Biotech and Plantscience

This is a senior position for a well know research institute. You will become head of a research unit, focusing on Plant Metabolic engineering, Crop Protection and Microbial Process Engineering. The team is around 30 people strong at the moment.

You will lead the team into the development of an (externally funded) R&D program, focussing on Eco-efficient Bio-Refining, Bioconversion Technologies and process engineering.

You will be in charge of:

• Developing the short and long-term strategy for the department
• Making and implement a relevant business plan
• Presenting the R&D unit in external communication ways
• Coordinating the R&D activities, and contribute to internal and external collaboration with different departments
• Maintaining your scientific and technological background, to support your team members

To be successful you need:

• A PhD degree in a related field of Bioengineering/green chemistry
• A Strong academic background and good connections in the industry
• Have solid team leading experience
• Be a specialist in one of the following fields (with strong knowledge on the other topics): crop protection, plant metabolism or microbiologism
• Have strong experience in generating intellectual properties
• To live in Luxembourg or be willing to relocate to Luxembourg
