Job Details

The Student Education Service provides effective, consistent, high quality support for all student cohorts. The Service is underpinned by principles of quality, equity, consistency and opportunity - delivering an exceptional student experience for all.

Leeds University Business School is an international business school with over 2000 students from around the world. The School is accredited by AMBA and EQUIS and is ranked in the world’s top 100 Business Schools.  As part of its commitment to providing an excellent student experience and the highest level of support to its students, due to increased students numbers and increased complexity of programmes Leeds University Business School is seeking to appoint a Student Support Officer.

You will support the Business School’s commitment to providing an excellent student experience and the highest level of support to its students. Reporting to the Programmes Officer with student support responsibility and operating as part of the wider Student Education Service within the Faculty and the University, you will develop tailored and individual pastoral support for the School’s students. The role will involve opportunity to develop further Student Education Enhancement activities, as appropriate.

Experience of working with students is required along with strong problem solving and analytical skills, and excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. Strong skills in Access, Excel and Word are required, along with keen attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. You will ideally be working in Higher Education, with an understanding of learning and teaching and a pastoral support background. You should have significant knowledge and expertise to effectively support student practices and processes.

Flexibility and adaptability are key to this role, as it likely that the role will evolve to meet changing priorities within the Student Education Service and where necessary you may be required to support other activities as workloads fluctuate. You will share good practice and encourage knowledge exchange between colleagues to continuously improve student support practices.
