We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Process Analytics Development group supporting the commercialization of diverse therapeutic protein candidates in the biologics pipeline. The individual will provide analytical support to in-process testing for process development and commercialization activities and also participate in related in-process method development and qualification for pipeline and in-line biologics programs. The individual should have relevant training and experience in general analytical techniques (e.g. HPLC, UPLC, UV spectrophotometry, ELISA, Glycan analysis, peptide mapping, LC/MS etc).
The position will be responsible for technical documentation (e.g. electronic notebooks, testing methods, technical reports, etc.) according to Merck's standard practices. It also requires close collaboration with different functional areas (e.g. upstream, purification, technical operations etc.) within Process Development and Commercialization (Biologics).
Qualifications
Education:
*
Bachelor's degree in Bio - Engineering, bio –related science or related-field with five (5) years of experience; or Master's degree with three (3) years of experience.
Required Experience:
*
Experience working in biopharma with monoclonal antibodies
*
Excellent oral and written communication skills
*
Demonstrated ability and expertise in analytical method execution, optimization, characterization and data analysis, with technical experience in some of the following analytical methods:
- HPLC
- UPLC
- UV spectrophotometry
- ELISA
- Glycan analysis
- Peptide mapping
- LC/MS
Preferred Experience:
*
Knowledge and experience with chromatography software, such as Empower 3
*
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
*
Working understanding of US/EU regulatory requirements and / or working knowledge of cGMPs is a plus
