Minimum Requirements:
Lecturer:
- Masters in Fine Art(visuals Arts)/ Masters Degree in Technology: Fine Art
- At least three (3) years lecturing experience at an undergraduate level at a tertiary institution.
- Research track record (publications and/or exhibitions)
Senior Lecturer:
- A PhD/D Tech Fine Arts (Visual Arts)
- At least three (3) years lecturing experience at an undergraduate and postgraduate level at a tertiary level
- Research track record (publications and/or exhibitions)
- Postgraduate supervision track record
Professor/Associate Professor
- A completed Doctorate in Visual Arts or an appropriate associated field
- A substantial and recent publication and/or exhibition record in the discipline
- A minimum of ten (10) years teaching experience (Professor level) or five (5) years (Associate Professor level) at tertiary level
- A record of successful supervision of postgraduate research
Additional Recommendations:
- Lecturing experience at a University of Technology
- Lecturing experience with English Second Language students
- Familiarity with practice-based Visual Arts Research
Summary of Duties:
- Lecture Art Theory and Art Practice (Printmaking and other 2D subjects at undergraduate level which entails integrated theory and practice (studio practice, lectures, tutorials, seminars)
- Be involved in running the printmaking studio
- Participate in team teaching within the department in both the Fine Art and Jewellery Design programmes
- Undertake research and publish/exhibit on a regular basis
- Act as supervisor/co-supervisor for M Tech students
- Undertake administrative duties assigned by the Head of Department/Programme Co-ordinator
- Be prepared to take on the role of Programme Co-ordinator Fine Art, if requested
