Laboratory Technician: Textile Testing (2-year contract)

• Conduct Tests and analysis of clothing, textiles or related products and materials for commercial clients
• Liaise with external industry clients and provide quotations
• Compile accurate client test/finding reports
• Ensure that the laboratory comply with Health and Safety requirements
• Management and maintenance of laboratory and processing equipment
• Manage raw materials acquisition

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• A National Diploma in Textile Technology (Wet/Dry Processing) or equivalent
• At least two (2) years laboratory technician experience in academia or manufacturing
• Correlated (accredited by an organization or company)to be proficient in a range of clothing or textile tests
• Applied knowledge of garment and textile testing and analysis

• Conduct tests and analysis on Textiles and Clothing, include fibre, yarn and fabric
• Liaise with industrial clients
• Job costing and quotations
• Manage throughput of projects in line with reporting requirements
• Compile clearly communicated accurate reports
• Administration, management and maintenance of laboratory and processing equipment
• Ensure that laboratories comply with Health and Safety requirements
• Development, application and maintenance of laboratory procedures
• Raw material acquisition
