Job Details
The National Environmental Science Programme (NESP) is a partnership between the Commonwealth of Australia through the Department of the Environment and researcher institutions across Australia. The NESP Threatened Species Recovery (TSR) Hub brings together leading experts to work on the conservation of Australia's threatened species and ecological communities.
The $60 million TSR Hub is supported by funding through the Australian Government's NESP, and matched by contributions from 10 of the country's leading academic institutions and the Australian Wildlife Conservancy.
It works closely with more than 20 collaborating organisations, including management agencies and conservation groups, to ensure its research has an on-ground impact in threatened species management.
The roleThe successful appointee will implement the communications strategy of the NESP Threatened Species Recovery Hub. This includes both the internal (i.e. across national nodes of the Hub) and external (i.e. across a variety of stakeholder groups, with media, etc.) communication objectives. The Communications Manager receives direction on overall strategy, objectives and content of the communications program from the TSR Hub's Leadership Group. In implementing the communications program, the Communications Manager will work closely with the Knowledge Broker, Indigenous Liaison Officer and other Hub staff.
The personThe successful applicant will have extensive experience in the area of communication, including detailed understanding of communication techniques in a service based environment, as well as a demonstrated experience in providing effective leadership and management of a team.
RemunerationThis is a fixed term appointment at HEW Level 7. The remuneration package will be in the range $ $79,498.69- $86,950.63 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $93,013.46 - $ 101,732.23 p.a.).
