Director, Oncological Imaging

The University of Maryland Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC) is a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center. The mission of the UMGCCC is to undertake innovative basic, clinical, population and prevention research that will impact the understanding and treatment of cancer around the world and to provide state-of-the-art clinical care to cancer patients in Maryland and beyond. The Center's "bench to bedside" approach — emphasizes the connection between research and clinical practice.

The University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM) is seeking an established oncological investigator to serve as Director of Oncological Imaging. The Director will be responsible for the continued development of our Oncological Imaging program and accordingly will be working collaboratively with the research faculty within the NCI designated University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer (UMGCC). The Director will develop and oversee multidisciplinary teams for clinical treatment, organize basic science/clinical research initiatives, seek and acquire grants, and encourage publications and presentations in prestigious venues nationally and internationally. Responsibilities with include the development of molecular probes and quantitative imaging methods, and expansion of multi-modal imaging capabilities at UMSOM. Specifically, we are looking for investigators with strong funding history who currently hold two or more NIH funded R01s. Investigators should have a robust background in cancer biology or imaging physics and a demonstrated expertise in medical imaging in oncological applications. This position will have a faculty appointment in the Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine.

• An MD or PhD is required.
• Strong history of federal grant support, including funding through NIH.
• Accomplished academic record sufficient to fulfill the University of Maryland criteria for a senior level faculty appointment.
