Graduate Chemist - regulatory data and product compliance
Our client is a leading consumer products organisation offering an interesting set of services within industry. As a service led organisation, they have a rich history of established products and established raw material ranges. This breadth of products, raw materials and substances on offer suggest anybody joining will have a broad product range to be exposed too.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate chemist to get their foot into the door within the regulatory arena in a position that will closely support the regulatory department. These opportunities are often unheard of and will provide a platform to be training within Safety Data Sheets.
The position is within Product compliance and assuring the compliance of the product. In such a position, utilising your chemistry background you will assess product formulations and understand the chemistry related to it. This will be crucial in understanding and deciphering the technical data on raw material substances as well as understanding technical information from customers.
A large part of the position will be to understand and review the legislation and regulation affecting the products and covering questions form that. This will mean evaluate each customer request, assess and plan research activities so that custom answers can be created to satisfy the customer needs for product information.
The aim is to present scientific and legal facts accurately and to give the customer confidence that the product.
This will mean working with the regulatory department to understand product formulations and helping to compile the data that will be used in Substance Information Exchange Forums (SIEF meetings)
The position will involve accessing and collating information (therefore working closely with multiple departments) and involve a high level of admin work. In addition you will compile customer questionnaires in order to obtain this technical information.
Using your scientific background, you will answer questions related to
QUALIFICATIONS
Educated to degree level within Chemistry. BSc or MSc in Chemistry (however work experience in a similar position will take precedence)
An ability to work with high amount of data and confidence to manage a large workload of scientific origin.
Any regulatory knowledge is welcomed but not necessary.
