Job Details
This project builds on our recent work to address this issue. First we will systematically review and synthesise the existing literature on mechanisms underlying links between family SES and offspring antisocial behaviour, extending our existing review database. Second, guided by the review findings, we will conduct new analyses of the linking mechanisms in the British Child and Adolescent Mental Health Survey datasets. You will manage both the review and analysis projects. This will require the abilities to conduct qualitative and quantitative systematic reviews and to analyse large-scale longitudinal datasets. You will also need to manage an advisory group of policy experts and academics who will help to steer the project, which will require high level skills in communication and organisation. You will need to be prepared to work hard to deliver an ambitious programme of research within a relatively tight timeframe.
The reward will be to conduct cutting-edge research with the potential to inform policies that can reduce social inequalities in antisocial behaviour. You should have a good honours degree (or equivalent experience) in Psychology or a related discipline and a PhD (or equivalent experience) in Psychology or a related discipline. The ability to review systematically and synthesis a complex multi-disciplinary literature is also essential.
The post is full-time, for a fixed term of 12 months starting on 1 November 2016.
