Reporting to the Director of the Master in Education Studies (MES) the Program Coordinator is an integral member of this small unit. The MES is a stand-alone unit that offers a cost-recovery, blended-delivery Master of Education program for teaching professionals. The position is responsible for human resource management, instructional design and instructor support, facilitating new technology integration, management of courses and strategic program development, program promotion and student recruitment.

Duties

  • Provides general course support by meeting with instructors, and assisting in course development
  • Manages course content for face-to face and in on-line environments in eClass and eClass Live
  • Manages course reading materials, including digital readings for online courses
  • Coaches faculty on the use of technology to deliver and support instruction
  • Manages copyright compliance
  • Provides support in synchronous (eClassLive) classes for instructors
  • Provides training and consultation to instructors in the appropriate use of the university learning management systems (Moodle and Adobe Connect)
  • Delivers workshops to first year students (e.g. Moodle and Adobe Connect, on-line resources, library and APA)
  • Identifies and evaluates emerging technologies to meet specific instructional needs and learning objectives with program courses
  • Identifies and coordinates the development training and support documents for students in collaboration with instructors
  • Shares responsibility with the director for hiring instructors, teaching assistants, and casual support staff
  • Provides support to the graduate program secretary
  • Monitors program accounts and is responsible for internal control approval
  • Prepares annual budget and year end reconciliation
  • Works with the Manager on financial decision making
  • Develops promotional materials, attends recruitment events and maintains the website
  • Develops timetables, administers course evaluations, and updates program policy documents
  • Manages off-site cohorts
  • Collaborates in strategic planning for the unit


Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education, Educational Technology or related discipline; Master's degree preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills and a commitment to outstanding student service
  • Experience in instructional design, training and curriculum development
  • Knowledgeable of new and emerging teaching and learning technologies
  • Knowledgeable of copyright policies
  • Familiar with University policies and procedures, PeopleSoft, eLearning tools (such as Moodle and Adobe Connect) and Google applications
